I'm proud to announce that my short experimental film, Signal-to-Noise, has been accepted into the Singapore World Film Carnival... and, also, has won in it's category at the Toronto Alternative Film Festival.
In many video/film festivals, to be 'accepted' is equivalent to 'winning' because that's how some festivals are set up. In any case, being appreciated at this level—on a worldwide stage—is gratifying for someone (like me) who creates video works to please myself, primarily.
I've entered this video into a few others around the world. Some occur much later in the year, so it'll be a waiting game. But, having had even this much recognition is satisfying for someone who 'used' to do this sort of thing years ago and is, just now, coming back to it due to my retirement from a long life of commercial work.
